A Soiree Benefiting 9 Years of Compassion in Action
Dear Friends,
I’m Jennifer Finnegan, Founder and CEO of The Giving Closet Project. As we celebrate nine years of service, I’m both humbled and amazed by how far we’ve come—from a simple idea to a thriving, community-powered organization that’s impacted over 18,000 students across Northeast and South Florida.
After 15 years as a public school teacher, I saw how the lack of essentials—like clothing, shoes, and hygiene items—created barriers to learning. That inspired me to start The Giving Closet Project in 2016. Today, we proudly partner with two major school districts and 75+ social service agencies to provide real solutions for youth and families facing trauma, poverty, and mental health struggles.
Our mission is more than meeting basic needs—it’s about restoring dignity, building confidence, and breaking down barriers for students in crisis. As student homelessness and poverty continue to rise, our commitment grows even stronger.
I invite you to keep walking with us on this journey. Your support fuels our impact, helps us grow, and changes lives for the better.
Please join us on Saturday, Oct. 11 for our 2nd Annual “Rhythm & Roots” Soirée—a celebration of nine years of compassion in action.
I’d love to connect and share more about our work. Reach out anytime at jennifer@givingclosetproject.org. Thank you for believing in us.
With gratitude,
Jennifer Finnegan
